Aaron Rodgers Tests Positive For COVID After Claiming He’s Been Immunized

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Aaron Rodgers reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 and will not be playing for the Green Bay Packers this weekend. This, despite saying he was quote “immunized” in August. He is not vaccinated, according to NFL.com’s reporting. The publication says Rodgers had sought an exemption from the NFL’s COVID-19 protocols based on his antibody levels this summer, after he received homeopathic treatment from his personal doctor to raise his antibody levels. His exemption was denied. The NFL’s COVID committee decided that Rodgers’ treatment did not provide any documented protection from the coronavirus.

Packers’ head coach Matt LaFleur says he does not know how long Rodgers will be out nor does he know if Rodgers has any symptoms. He says, “I really don’t know. I just know that he won’t be available this week and we’ve got a great opponent we’re going against. And we’ll address next week when we get there.”

The NFL quarterback was set to play in Sunday’s marquee game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Now, backup quarterback Jordan Love will start for Rodgers on Sunday. It will be Love’s first time starting in the NFL.

Our question of the night: should Rodgers face any kind of punishment?
