CHARLOTTE, N.C. –Interact with over 50 life-size animatronic and static dinosaurs this November as The Jurassic Encounter – Walking Dinosaur Tour takes over Ballantyne’s Backyard.
The dinosaur attraction will be here for two weeks only, from November 19th through November 28th, at the park in Charlotte.
Sponsored by Go Ballantyne and The Northwoods Office Team, The Jurassic Encounter is an outdoor event bringing a prehistoric experience for the whole family to enjoy.
Officials say families can walk through the park and enjoy an up-close and personal encounter with over 50 life-size animatronic and static dinosaurs and bones.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the large and in charge T-Rex, mighty Triceratops and her young, plus dozens of other species.
Tickets to attend the walking tour are $12 in advance online here and $16 on-site for anyone over the age of 2.
Officials say anyone looking to enhance their tour can download a Free Educational and Interactive App that teaches all there is to know about dinosaurs.
There will also be a DINO Village on-site that includes toys and souvenirs for sale, free photo ops, digging for bones, yard games, baby dinos, food, a bouncy house, and more.
Specific events at The Jurassic Encounter include:
Sunday, November 1st
- Dino Dance Party with DJ Rex and the Dino-mite Dancers from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- Free Dino action figures will be given to all of those attending 12-years-old and younger in a dinosaur costume.
Thursday, November 25th
- Dino Costume Party from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Dino fans of all ages can come dressed up as their favorite dinosaur to this costume party on Thanksgiving Day.
- The costume contest will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Free Dino action figures will be given to all of those attending 12-years-old and younger in a dinosaur costume.
