Black-Owned Luxury Candle Company Opens In SouthPark Mall, Gives Back To Local Nonprofit

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Luxury candle company Evolution Aura is now one of the only Black-owned businesses open in SouthPark mall.

After celebrating its grand opening on October 28th, Evolution Aura announced it will donate 20 percent of its profits from now through the end of the year to Bed for Kids, a local nonprofit that provides beds and essential furniture to children and their families in need.

“As Evolution Aura continues to grow as a brand, we are excited to open our new store in SouthPark mall,” said chief operating officer Alexis Gonzalez. “To be able to have our first retail location in a city that has given so much to us, we are also looking forward to partnering with Beds for Kids to help those in need.”

“We’re always pleased to partner with businesses who want to give back, and we look forward to beginning our relationship with Evolution Aura,” said Malcolm Graham, executive director, Beds for Kids. “Through our relationship, I am sure that we can provide more resources for children who need it most.”

Evolution Aura sells hand-crafted, soy-based candles in three sizes: small (8 oz), medium (28 oz), and large (80 oz).

The names of the candles reflect some of the most personal emotions including love, strength, compassion, and joy.

The SouthPark storefront will be the first for the candle company that was recently featured in Essence magazine, according to a news release.
