Drying Out Into the Weekend

Rain may last into Saturday morning, but abundant sunshine returns by Sunday.

We may be closing out the workweek today, but rain chances aren’t ready to take off for the weekend just yet. Scattered showers will continue to fall across the WCCB Charlotte viewing area overnight tonight into Saturday morning. While chances are relatively uniform tonight, the best odds for rain come north and east of the Metro. While clouds and a few isolated showers will greet us for the first half of the weekend, expect mainly dry conditions across the board by late Saturday afternoon. Mostly sunny skies return to the forecast for Sunday, setting the tone going forward into next week. Highs should hover around the 70s and 80s for much of next week.

The National Hurricane Center continues to monitor an area of low pressure just off the Carolina coastline. Odds of tropical formation have been steadily increasing for the past week, now up to 40%. While we may see Tropical Storm Wanda over the next few days, the good news is that we shouldn’t see any impacts in the western half of the Carolinas.
