Edge On The Clock: Merriam-Webster Adds 455 New Words To Dictionary





CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Merriam-Webster has added 455 new words and phrases to its dictionary this month. There are plenty of coronavirus-related entries. They include “breakthrough,” as in breakthrough cases or infections, “super-spreader,” as in super-spreader events, “long COVID,” and “vaccine passport.”

Plus, Uber riders in three cities may get surprised by some stylish Halloween rides this weekend.

And, Will Ferrell is revealing that he turned down a $29 million offer to star in a sequel to Elf.
