AM Headlines:

  • AM Patchy Fog
  • Chilly Start
  • Pleasant Afternoon
  • Cooler temps mid-week
  • Mountain Snow Thursday

Discussion:

A cold front will bring cooler temps to the area after today. Enjoy the last seasonable day temperature-wise this week. Highs will reach the upper 60s with clouds filling in late. Not expecting any rain out of this system, but colder air will get stopped up against the mountains meaning cooler temps Wednesday. Highs will struggle to break out of the mid-50s under mostly cloudy skies. Another cold front arrives late Wednesday. This will bring cold rain for the majority of the region. However, the highest mountains peak above 3500′ could see the first snowfall of the season. Not expecting much of an accumulation with up to an inch of snow expected at best. Any snow or mixed precip will turn back over to a straight rain by Thursday afternoon with showers wrapping up Friday midday. Colder nights as high pressure settles in for the weekend. The foothills and piedmont could see their first frost or even freeze as temps fall to the low to mid-30s. Temps will warm into the low 60s by Sunday.
