Rain and storms Wednesday evening will give way to sunny skies and seasonable highs to close out the week.

Happy first day of fall! While the muggy, summer-like conditions have taken center stage over the better part of the past week, big changes are coming to the forecast. In fact, we’ll be going from “UGH!” weather to UGG weather as soon as tomorrow morning as a sharp cold front passes through from the west. Showers and storms will carry into the early evening before cooler and drier air clears everything out. Expect mostly clear skies past midnight to go along with lows in the 30s and 40s in the High Country and Foothills with 50s in the Piedmont.

Sunshine and highs in the 60s and 70s will carry us into the weekend. The warmth will eventually build back in by next week, but this dry mass of air is here for the long haul.

Tonight: Storms early, then clearing. Low: 54º. Wind: NW 5-10.

Thursday: Sunny skies. Comfy highs. High: 75°. Wind: NW 5-10.

Thursday Night: Clear and cool. Low: 52°. Wind: N 5-10.

Friday: Beautiful. High: 75°. Wind: N 5-10.
