CHARLOTTE, N.C. (News Release) — The Humane Society of Charlotte is teaming up with Mac Tabby Cat Cafe as their new animal adoption partner. Beginning Nov. 17, HSC will provide adoptable cats to Mac Tabby’s NoDa location.

The new partnership comes as the first venture in HSC’s Business Ambassador Program where local businesses can foster HSC dogs and cats that are available for adoption in the hope that a new venue and audience will increase their chances of adoption.

“We are so excited to kick off the Humane Society of Charlotte’s Business Ambassador Program with Mac Tabby! Mac Tabby Cat Cafe is well known in the Charlotte area and they provide such a great and fun opportunity for people to engage with adoptable cats,” said Calli Rutzinski, HSC Adoption Manager. “Mac Tabby is providing an inviting space for potential adopters to meet their new furry feline friend outside of the shelter, making space available to help another animal.”

Lori Konawalik opened Mac Tabby Cat Cafe in December 2017 and saw an immediate impact in helping homeless cats find new loving families. With two locations; one in the NoDa neighborhood of Charlotte and one in downtown Concord, their mission of providing positive energy and love to the community continues. Mac Tabby Cat Cafe is divided. Half cat lounge, half coffee shop all equaling one amazing experience.

“We are very excited to work with the Humane Society of Charlotte to further the mission of creating bonds between humans and animals,” said Lori Konawalik. “We are honored to be HSC’s first Business Ambassador Program connection in the community and look forward to many years of serving our city together!”

Through the partnership with the Humane Society of Charlotte, Mac Tabby is helping HSC extend its mission of delivering innovative services that strengthen the human-animal bond and improve the lives of companions animals and the people that care about them.

The Humane Society of Charlotte also has plans to host an interactive cat cafe in the new HSC Animal Resource Center which is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2022. HSC looks forward to learning the ropes from the experienced Mac Tabby team and plans to continue their partnership after the HSC cat cafe opens.
