London Researchers Want Lobsters And Crabs Protected

LONDON, UK–  A group of London researchers wants protections for lobsters, crabs and squids. The researchers believe the sentient animals can feel pain, learn and take action to avoid pain.

Those abilities would make them eligible for protections under the new animal welfare legislation. Simply put, the group feels that since the animals can feel, they should not be eaten.
