CHARLOTTE, NC – Mecklenburg county commissioners voted unanimously on Wednesday night to revise the mask mandate policy. More specifically, when the mandate will be lifted.
The mask mandate will now be lifted once the percent of positive Covid cases reaches below 5% for a seven day period.
The 5% is an average over the course of the seven days. Previously, the policy called for a 5% average over the course of 30 days.
The current percent positive average is about 6%.
