While fall temperatures stick around, the sunshine will not.
Beautiful fall weather arrived Tuesday afternoon, and the good times have continued into our Hump Day. While the seasonable temperatures will stick around, the sunshine will not. Mostly cloudy skies will greet us to begin our Thursday, followed quickly by rain in the early afternoon. Expect highs to hover around 60° in the Piedmont while the High Country struggles to crack 50°. While severe weather is not likely to be an issue, strong winds are possible in the eastern portions of the viewing area.
The big story will be the rain, which could total up to 1-2″ across the board through the first half of the weekend. Most of the rain will fall Thursday afternoon and evening, but a few isolated showers may carry into Friday and Saturday. Highs will largely remain in the 50s and 60s before more sunshine returns on Sunday.
