CHARLOTTE, N.C. — On Thursday UNC Charlotte accepted an invitation to join the American Athletic Conference. It’s a monumental moment for the 49ers athletic program who will see a large increase in revenue due to the move to the AAC. The date of departure from Conference USA to begin play in the American has not been announced.
