Record Warmth Likely on Friday

– Statewide Burn Ban continues
– Charlotte and many surrounding areas in the Piedmont are now under a severe drought. The last time a portion of the Piedmont saw a severe drought was October 2019 with this being the first for Charlotte since August 2015.
– Record breaking highs possible on Friday

An area of high pressure dominates our region bringing dry conditions and increasing temperatures. Expect a mild overnight with low temperatures bottoming out in the 40s under mostly clear skies. High temperatures on Friday will hover right around a record for the day which is 75° – my forecast is 76°! Sunday will be the cooler day this weekend with highs returning to average in wake of yet again, another dry cold front.

Starting next Wednesday we will see a system develop to our west which hopefully can bring a decent chance of rain through the second half of next week.

Tonight: Mostly clear. Low: 44.

Friday Sunny. High: 76.

Saturday: Mostly sunny. High: 74.

Have a great night and Friday!

Kaitlin
