CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The 8th Annual NC MedAssist Pancakes & Beer 5K in Charlotte will take place on December 11 to help patients in the state receive crucial medicines that they cannot afford to purchase.
The Pancakes and Beer 5K fundraiser is an opportunity for the community to come together through running to help support people who need assistance with prescription medications. The race will be followed by a pancake, bacon, and beer breakfast which will be provided at the site.
According to a news release, when a participant registers they are helping 450 new patients in North Carolina to receive medicines. The 5K event is put on by NC MedAssist which is a charitable pharmacy that serves low-income and uninsured residents of North Carolina.
Everyone who registers for the event will receive an official 2021 Pancakes and Beer Commemorative t-shirt, pancake breakfast which includes Board’s Head bacon, a pint of beer, and one raffle ticket for Beer-For-A-Year gift basket.
The event will happen on Sat., Dec. 11 at 4001 Yancey starting at 9 a.m. Registration costs $30 until October 1st when the early bird special ends. After the early bird special on October 1, the price of registration will increase to $40.
