Severe Storms, Tornadoes Cause Damage Across the South Monday

[ad_1]

A line of storms brought strong storms and even a few tornadoes to the south early Monday causing damage and power outages across several states. Six tornadoes have been confirmed across five states as of Tuesday morning. A possible tornado near Nashville in Trousdale county flipped a school bus over in Tennessee with the driver inside. Strong wind from that storm picked up a camper that landed on the school bus. That man was not hurt, but two of his horses were killed in the storm. The National Weather Service Office in Nashville plans to survey the damage in four counties, including the damage from this storm in Trousdale county Tuesday to confirm if it was in fact a tornado.

The same system knocked out power to hundreds of people in Kentucky. An EF-1 tornado was confirmed in Stamping Ground by the National Weather Service Office in Louisville. At least two people were injured and several mobile homes and outhouses were damaged. The tornado was on the ground for a quarter of a mile with winds up to 95 mph. The American Red Cross has deployed a team to the area to help those in the community.
