Most communities will wake up to freezing temperatures Sunday morning.

Happy Friday! We’re only one day removed from a near-80° stretch earlier this week, but big changes are moving into the forecast. Bright skies are back on the menu heading into the weekend, but don’t expect a glow-up in temperatures anytime soon. In fact, most communities in the WCCB Charlotte viewing area will wake up to freezing temperatures Sunday morning.

As rain chances move out this Friday morning, gradual clearing arrives by the afternoon. Highs should top out in the 50s, 60s, and 70s across the board. Lows will swing into the 30s and 40s to kick off the weekend. Near-normal temperatures will head out the door by Saturday afternoon as a second cold front sweeps in from the west. Rain chances remain minimal, but a hefty dose of cold air settles in by the second half of the weekend. Below-average conditions, both in terms of rain chances and temperatures, carry into the first half of next week.
