Suspect in Custody After Shooting at Mooresville Walmart





MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Police have made an arrest in a Sunday afternoon shooting that sent customers running at a local Walmart.

The suspect is now awaiting extradition to North Carolina to face charges of attempted 1st degree murder.

Dozens of police officers rushed to the Walmart on Norman Station Boulevard in Mooresville around Noon on Sunday.

Police say Robert Baker-Brown shot a 27-year-old man in the back, in the parking lot near the garden center.

Investigators say Baker-Brown immediately left the scene and headed home to Georgia, where he notified authorities there.

Officials say the shooting resulted from a domestic dispute.

MEDIC took the victim to Atrium Health, where he’s expected to recover.
