Vermont Schools Give Students Free Condoms

[ad_1]

MONTPELIER, VT.– Vermont students in middle and high school now have access to free condoms at school. The governor signed the law in 2020. Vermont is the first state to do this.

The goal of the “condom availability” program was aimed at lowering teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.  The condoms will be available to students in 7th to 12th grades and will be placed in locations that are safe and easy for students to access.

Schools are not paying for the birth control. Planned Parenthood of Northern New England is providing the condoms.
